SanDisk Flash ChipSet Used In Netpliance i-opener

SUNNYVALE, CA, May 3, 2000 - SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) announced today that its IDE Flash Chipset is used by Netpliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NPLI), Austin, Texas, for its Internet appliance, the i-opener.

Netpliance, the leading Internet appliance services company, selected SanDisk as its supplier because of its renowned high-performance and reliability. "We intend to provide the best user experience possible to i-opener users," said Marc Willebeek-LeMair, chief technology officer at Netpliance. "SanDisk is a world-class supplier of memory cards and its technology - while transparent to the user - allows for a simple user experience when using email, accessing the Internet, or shopping online."

Netpliance i-openers are shipped with 16-megabyte SanDisk IDE Flash Chipsets embedded in the unit.
