ATHENS, GREECE, Sept. 4, 2001 - SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) has opened retail sales in Greece and today named D & J Damkalidis S.A. as its retail distributor in that country. The announcement was made at a SanDisk press conference in Athens.
Damkalidis, headquartered in Athens, is a leading trading company in Greece that imports, promotes and exclusively distributes several well-known electronic and non-electronic products. Damkalidis, which represents Nikon, Polaroid and Varta in Greece, distributes digital cameras, scanners, digital imaging software, printers and batteries and directly supplies 3,000 retail outlets and 80 wholesalers.
Gerrit Van Hofwegen, SanDisk's EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) sales manager, said, "With its considerable experience, especially in the imaging market, Damkalidis will be a genuine asset to SanDisk.
